Gulf Fritillary Butterfly - Agraulis vanillae
Facts/Notes: This butterfly belongs to a tropical group known as Long-wings. There are about 500 species of Passiflora in the tropics. Most Passiflora species that serve as a host plant for the Long-wings contain an organic cyanide compound that is poisonous to birds.
